Introduction

The Debrecen Intermodal Terminal, operated by GYSEV CARGO Zrt., will assume a unique role in Eastern Hungary from 2025 as an open-access combined transport terminal. The terminal's service focus lies in two main areas: firstly, in the support of conventional rail freight operations, and secondly, in the handling of unaccompanied intermodal transport units—such as containers, swap bodies, and semi-trailers. These services include lifting and transshipment operations, storage, and a range of logistical and commercial value-added services.

Terminal Area

The total area of the terminal available for handling and storing containers and semi-trailers is 76,118 m².
The area between Tracks R I–R II and Track R III covers 51,611 m², while the area beyond Track R V, located under the gantry crane and extending up to Track R VI, comprises 24,507 m².

Track Information

By the end of the full construction phase, the terminal will comprise seven tracks, out of which five have already been completed. Regarding track lengths, the key information is that each track is capable of accommodating a full-length train, enabling significantly more efficient and faster loading and unloading operations.
